Meddo's Valiant  X  Ryegate Bell Moro

Riley is a full Lippitt Morgan who exemplifies our image of a quality Morgan. He was foaled in April 1995.  He has tremendous gaits, outstanding athletic abilities and is a true mover from all angles. These characteristics are enhanced by his wonderful and willing disposition.

Riley was professionally started under saddle by Buck Brannaman and has participated in two Brannaman clinics.  While he enjoys trail riding in Western saddle, he has been schooled in Dressage.  Riley's has had the experience of riding with some wonderful Dressage riders and instructors during clinics, to include Yan Eberling, Hokan Thorn, Ellen Eckstein and currently he and his amateur owner are working with Missy Fladland.

Riley has competed successfully in open Dressage this past summer and has done very well.  His first United States Dressage Federation Show was at Briar Fox Farm in Wichita, Kansas, on April 15 & 16, 2006. He did very well in open competition against large Warmbloods and mixed breeds.  Riley was entered in four classes and he received 2 Firsts and 2 Seconds. His high scores were in Training Level Test 4 with a 65.769% and in First Level Test 1 he received a 64.815%. Riley's Training Level Test 4 score of 65.769% was .02% behind the high point for Training level out of 21 rides.  Riley’s First Level Test 1 score of 64.815% earned him the First Level High Score Award on Sunday. Riley also qualified for Morgan Nationals at Training and First Levels, not bad for his first USDF recognized dressage show!

He also competed twice in Kansas City at the Longview Horse Park in Training test four and First level test one and two. He continued in the ribbons to show improvement and gave us a glimpse of things to come.

Riley and his Dressage rider Heidi Basler did extremely well at the 2006 end of year awards for The Nebraska Dressage Association. They were Training Level Champion for Adult Non-Amateur with a medium score of 60.385 with Riley placing 4th in overall training level

Riley is now working on Second level Dressage movements with the plan to compete next year at that level.

Along with being a Dressage horse Riley has also competed in in-hand classes with a Reserved Champion to his credit at the Heart Of Texas Morgan Horse show.
